Privacy policy

BitShift, LLC operates Social Market and collects the information needed to display public listings, process placement payments, prevent abuse, and operate the service.

Information we collect

We collect the platform and handle for a submitted profile, its canonical profile URL, selected niche, and public metadata such as display name, biography, avatar, and follower count.

When you make a payment, Stripe processes payment information. We may receive and privately store the payer email, payment amount, currency, payment status, Stripe identifiers, and payment timestamps. Full card details remain with Stripe and are not stored by Social Market.

We collect limited technical information used for security and click tracking, including hashed IP addresses, hashed browser visitor identifiers, truncated user-agent data, sanitized referrers, and click timestamps.

We use DataFast for site analytics. It may process page activity, IP addresses, and browser or device information, and uses analytics cookies to recognize visits and sessions.

How we use information

  • Operate and display the public leaderboard.
  • Verify and reconcile Stripe payments.
  • Provide payment, support, and essential service communications.
  • Prevent duplicate click counting, abuse, fraud, and unauthorized activity.
  • Maintain records for accounting, security, disputes, and legal obligations.

Public information

Listed profile information, rank, placement total, niche, and accepted outbound click count may be displayed publicly. Payer email and payment records are not displayed publicly. Click totals are aggregated and are not intended to identify individual visitors.

Service providers

Stripe processes payments and related payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. DataFast processes analytics on our behalf. Other infrastructure and service providers may process information only as needed to provide, secure, and operate the service.

Cookies and local storage

For click deduplication, we use a random, HTTP-only cookie that lasts up to one year and does not directly identify you. DataFast uses analytics cookies for visit and session measurement. We also use local storage for preferences such as theme.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, preserve payment and ranking records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including restricted server-side payment processing and hashed security identifiers. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational exceptions. Contact elias@bitshifthq.com. Removing a public listing may not remove records we must retain for payment, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

Children

The service is not directed to children. Do not use the service or submit payment information if you are under 18.
